If we've worked together, wether I assisted, you assisted me, you are the client, etc., It doesn't matter really - You know I am prob the least "stiff" photographer out there. I do take my job seriously, but we are going to laugh at work. Period.

I have taught this to students for years, if someone doesn't like working with you, they won't. It is so true for many reasons, but in photography, working on set has so many extra stresses that a traditional office doesn't. You cannot let those ruin the day or change the dynamic.  One of my assistants recently said to me " Jason, you have a solution for everything!". It may not always be the right solution, but yes I do.  I took that statement as a badge of honor to wear proudly! Even if the solution is just to not lose my mind over a mistake, and just tuck my head down work harder to make whatever happen correctly the next try - that's what I am doing. In most situations, its simply making sure everyone walks away from a photoshoot saying  these 3 things.. 

1. That was fun!
2. We love these images!
3. We'd totally work with Jason again! 

No one is perfect, except Chuck Norris and Jason Statham, (and I'm certain Mr. Statham's parents named him after me). But I strive to be in the eyes of my clients, with a little fun and humor sprinkled on top, and in my opinion it's a formula that works. Don't worry though, I definitely photoshop out any spirits or ghosts that show up in your interior shots if my ace assistant cant ward them off first - at no additional charge!

Dallas High Rise Office Space...

The gorgeous new office space for the attorneys of the Dallas firm Strasburger has been one of my favorite projects this year. The new build out on the 60th floor of the Bank of America Building in downtown Dallas features only the best finishes and furniture.

The simple, yet functional interior design for this commercial office space is a stand out of the many real estate and design projects I photograph for Dallas' businesses each year. It actually makes my job easier when this is the kind of hard work so many people put into a space before I arrive with my team and gear. General Tso's Chicken - Dallas Texas Food & Advertising Photographer

  While this dish is a 20th Century creation for the North American Chinese Cuisine market, I am quite confident that Zuo Zongtang, the man who the dish is named after, would be quite proud of it.

  As a food and advertising photographer, presenting simple dishes is harder than it seems. For me, it is a welcome challenge that keeps my mind sharp and creativity flowing. It's one of the things about photography I love so much.

 2014 has been an amazing year! In fact I was so busy, things like regular blog posts fell to the wayside. However that work has paid off! I was extremely honored in 2014 to have been awarded the Best of Houzz for Design Photography AND Customer Service. I was even more honored to find out I had earned it for 2015 as well!

Aerial Property Photography

One of things I have been really busy with lately is aerial property photography.

I have always had a passion for aviation, and what my wife once considered a costly hobby, has now proven to be a VERY valuable service (that's surprisingly inexpensive) to my clients.

The popularity of small crafts like the Cessna Skyhawk (pictured left), has greatly reduced the cost of aerial photos. With my contacts in the aviation industry, I can leverage this cost savings to provide quality photography of your property or event, from a position that your competition does NOT have the advantage of.

This service is especially popular for real estate agents and brokers, who list large homes on acreage, or commercial properties that are located near major highways, airports or other amenities that are desirable to potential buyers. Golf courses, amusement parks and large distribution centers are just some of the other property types that benefit from aerial photography. Just being able to show the surrounding land, structures, attractions, or overall image of the complete property is invaluable to getting a serious buyer to contact you about your listing.

Corporate Portraits - with a twist!

One of the staples of my business is the time honored "Corporate Portrait". Some call them head shots, business shots, or even variations on promo shots. All are applicable and ultimately mean the same thing - Conveying your persona/image to potential clients of your brand. 

Brand means many things to different businesses, but at the end of the day, it's highly probable that your clients like dealing with you, simply because they have some personal connection or familiarization with you. THAT is what your portrait should portray. All business is a form of sales and marketing, even this tattoo shop that is featured here. The staff sell their skills, talents and personalities. Attaching those things to a portrait is not easy, but when it works, it REALLY works. 

Wether a simple portrait on a black background for a realtor's business card, or a large composite group shot for a billboard and national advertising campaign, your portrait should clearly say who you are without words.
